Can no longer download photos and gifs embedded in Gmail (not attached)

I have been able to do this before, but now I cannot download a photo or gif from inside an email with the Gmail app. All it allows me to do when I hold down on the photo is Select it. It used to give me the option to Save to Photos. Does anyone know if something changed or if it is a setting that I can toggle back on?

"Insert photo" in Gmail suddenly stopped working I've been using the Insert Photos tool in Gmail for years to include photos in the text of my emails, but it has suddenly stopped working. I've restarted my computer, cleared my entire browser history and even uninstalled and re-installed my browser (Chrome), to no avail. When I try to insert a photo now, after I select the photo, the upload window just stays frozen at "uploading" but the photo never uploads. Any idea what's going on and how to fix it?

Images not appearing in emails Images aren't appearing in email body, regardless of account. I've changed my privacy settings in Preferences and now can Load Content Directly on each but that's time consuming when they used to load automatically. Forums suggest "remote loading of images" but I'm not finding that option.
