My airpods are not loud anymore. Sound doesn't seem to be coming from the main source.

My airpods volume will not go very loud anymore. Any way to fix it?

Hey jeb208,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We'd first recommend testing your AirPods with multiple devices and another set of headphones with your current device. That will help to isolate where exactly the issue occurs.

Does this happen with specific sounds such as alert tones? If so and if you are connected to an iPhone, try these steps from Adjust the volume of sound effects for AirPods which can help you make adjustments.

Change the volume of sound effects using iPhone or iPad
1. Wear your AirPods, and make sure they’re connected to your device.
2. On your iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Accessibility > AirPods.
3. Select your AirPods, then adjust Tone Volume.
For more options—such as Headphone Accommodations—tap Audio Accessibility Settings. See Set headphone accommodations for AirPods.

If you have isolated this to your AirPods, try resetting them which can help with most issues. Guidance can be found in How to reset your AirPods and AirPods Pro.

1. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Open the lid of your charging case, and put your AirPods in your ears.
4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods].
• If your AirPods appear there as connected, tap the More Info button  next to your AirPods, tap • Forget This Device, then tap again to confirm.
• If your AirPods don't appear there, continue to the next step.
5. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and keep the lid open.
6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.
7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps on your device's screen.

All the best.

My airpods are not loud anymore. Sound doesn't seem to be coming from the main source.
