Limited website access on my 2011 MacBook Pro

I own a 'vintage' 2011 model MacBook Pro 13" laptop. Recently I've noticed a more frequent inability to fully access websites I've visited for years. Instead, I get a website 'diagram' listing an 'index' of the website's contents. I don't understand why this is happening. I suspected that perhaps my 'vintage mac' is not equipped with the more advanced and newly upgrades of today's 2023 tech. My mac runs on a 2.5 Intel Core i5 OS processor and may not have today's "stuff" to process today's tech properly. I'd certainly appreciate it I could get relative support and/or assistance regarding this situation please.

Thank you

It sounds like your macOS version may not be fully updated. If you are not at 10.13 High Sierra, get there using Software updates. Older versions of Safari are no longer supported by many web sites.

If you are at OS 10.13 and get these messages in Safari, try using FireFox. Sites tend to be more friendly to old macOS versions using FireFox than Safari.
