What if My ipad says no SIM card? I didn’t remove it. I Can I assume it had one before? I don’t even know where it is if I do have one.

Thank you. I am trying to understand why those words are coming up on my screen where as it had not before. It made me feel like I had it and I lost it, but I wasn’t clear on if I ever had one. I just didn’t understand why NOW that message pop up on my screen. This is the 2nd generation iPad Pro 12.9 inch.

A WiFi+Cellular model of iPad will display “No SIM Card” during startup if there isn’t a DataSIM installed in the physical SIM slot. This message is informational - and does not necessarily indicative of a malfunction.
Your iPad will only have a SIM installed if you placed it there yourself - or possibly if the iPad was purchased from through a Cellular Carrier.
You are welcome.
The message that you see is benign. If you have recently updated your iPad to a more recent version of iPadOS, you may expect to see minor changes in how some functions operate - and transient information that may be shown on screen.
