Change iMessages photo download location on Mac
How do I change the download location for iMessages on my Mac to go from my photos app to my downloads instead.

Seems we can only turn on or turn off automatic sharing of attachments:
Eg: Messages > Preferences > Shared with You
brings up this small window where tick-boxes / turn on / off is available:
Message Attachments can be saved manually by simply dragging the file to the desktop, or to any folder we choose.
