Problems connecting iphone TO a Windows Mobile Hotspot

  1. I have an iphone iOS 16.3.
  2. I have a windows 10 computer connected to internet through ethernet.
  3. I have created a Mobile Hotspot in the Windows 10 computer (set name and password through WiFi).
  4. I connect my iphone to the Windows Mobile Hotspot network, enter the password
  5. Iphone shows that network under WiFi, but the spinning wheel is next to the name of the network and does not stop spinning
  6. No internet on the iphone although apparently connected to the network


All the support and help out there is for the opposite problem (setting a hotspot on your iphone and trying to connect your computer to that).


I contacted Apple support, I searched around, no success... anyone with this problem?

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. We recommend these steps to help get your iPhone successfully connected to your Windows hotspot:


  1. Reset the network settings on your iPhone to start with fresh connections and ensure no saved data is causing this to happen. This resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before, so be sure to have your passwords handy. When you're ready tap Settings > General > Transfer or Reset [Device] > Reset > Reset Network Settings.
  2. On your Windows computer, restart it for fresh connections there and set up the hotspot once more time. Here's the Microsoft Support guide with those steps: Use your Windows PC as a mobile hotspot - Microsoft Support
  3. Try to connect one more time from your iPhone.
