Alex-12,

Do you find this happens when using other video calling apps such as FaceTime? Are you having to force quit the app to have the green dot stop showing?

Let’s make sure we’re covering our basics as we isolate and troubleshoot. Please take a moment and test after reach step -

1. Restart your iPhone - Restart your iPhone

2. Make sure your iPhone is running the latest iOS version - Update your iPhone or iPad

3. Be sure the app is up to date - How to manually update apps on your Apple device

Thanks.

Hello Alex-12,

The green indicator would mean that an application on the device was using the camera. In this case, it looks like the application "WhatsApp" was the last thing that used the camera.

About the orange and green indicators in your iPhone status bar

If you want to stop an application from using the camera, you can disable access by going to Settings > Privacy & Security > Camera, and turning off the toggle switch for the apps you do not want to have access.

Cheers!

Typical Meta. Use something else?

It should go away if you force close the app (drag it halfway up then swipe it off) The worrying thing is that camera may actually be open. Turning on the actual camera and closing it may help but fundamentally think about Facetime or Skype til Meta sorts it out.

Their duty is ensure their apps work with iOS16.3.1 on that 14 Pro, not the other way round.
