need to get rid of old 2011 iMac. 3 beeps, 5 second pause 3 beeps

When I plugged it in it just beeps... 3 beeps, 5 seconds, then 3 beeps. Any idea what I can do?

The memory in your Mac didn't pass an integrity check. If you added or replaced memory, make sure that it's properly installed.

This means that a memory module in your Mac isn't functioning properly. Using this Apple Support article as a guide, Install memory in an iMac - Apple Support, remove a Memory module, and try to turn on your Mac. Do this until you've isolated which Memory module(s) is causing a problem. You may also need to move the modules to a different Memory slot.

+1 It needs to have good RAM to startup.

If you do not have the original RAM or the modules are bad? Then just pull out the Hard Drive and recycle the rest.

If you want or need anything from the Hard Drive? Then put the Hard Drive into an external enclosure or on a USB to SATA adapter and plug it into another Mac.
