Can’t keep heart rate monitors of any kind connected to Apple TV

Ever since the massive updates in the fall, I cannot seem to keep my Apple Watch or my Garmin heart rate monitor, which both worked perfectly prior to the updates, connected to my AppleTV for more than a few minutes at a time… Usually they’ll connect right in the beginning of a peloton workout on my Apple TV, and then like clockwork within 2 to 3 minutes max it’s disconnected and it’ll just keep rolling through this Apple Watch connected, disconnected, connected, disconnected cycle driving me absolutely crazy anyone have any solutions ? Really discouraging and frustrating.

Apple Watch Series 5, watchOS 9

Greetings DaynaGM,

Let’s work to isolate this situation. You mentioned this happens when running a Peloton workout, are you able to test using a different app, to see if the issue persists?

If you have both devices connected at the same time, what happens if you only attempt to run one at a time? This can assist with beginning to identify any interference.

Also, please be sure the latest version of tvOS is installed, tvOS 16.3. Update your Apple TV

Update your Apple TV manually
1. Go to Settings > System > Software Updates and select Update Software.
2. If there's an update, select Download and Install.
3. Wait for your Apple TV to download the update. Keep your Apple TV connected and plugged in to power until the update is complete.

After the update downloads, your Apple TV will restart, prepare the update, then install it. When the update is complete, your Apple TV will automatically restart again.

Thanks.

Thank you for the additional information DaynaGM,

Next, we would recommend deleting the Peloton app from your Apple TV, then reinstalling it. This will ensure the app has all the latest updates, and may also clear any issues the app might be having connecting with the Apple Watch. Even though it may not resolve the issue directly, this step will help us isolate the issue a bit further:

If you have the Peloton app on your Apple Watch, it may be beneficial to delete and redownload it there, as well, for the same reasons mentioned above:

Cheers!

My TV is always updated. I have it on automatic updates and even though they don’t seem to push through I check frequently to make sure and as the other person in this thread said everything else works fine. It’s literally just my Apple Watch and Apple TV and only since those massive updates.

I’ve attached a pic of my futile, attempt to once again try and connect my watch… As you can see on the top of the screen, it says that it’s disconnected and I had just gotten done on my Apple Watch in the peloton app hitting connect and it just keeps going back-and-forth back-and-forth, connect disconnect, connect disconnect. And yes, my heart rate was showing prior to me tapping the watch
