Issue with printed PDF (bold text)

Hello!

I googled this topic and I can't understand how to fix the issue: when I print a pdf file texts look bolder than how they should be (and how they appear on screen).

Previously I had this problem but only if I opened the file using Acrobat Reader, when I used Preview the prints were fine.

Now I got the same issue also using Preview.

iMac 24" with MacOS Ventura 13.1

Printer: HP OfficeJet 3833 (connected via Wi-Fi)

The printer appears to be updated as it says when I search for updates.

Thank you.

Give this a try: boot into Safe Mode according to How to use safe mode on your Mac and test to see if the problem persists. Reboot normally and test again.

NOTE 1: Safe Mode boot can take up to 3 - 5 minutes as it's doing the following;

• Verifies your startup disk and attempts to repair directory issues, if needed

• Loads only required kernel extensions (prevents 3rd party kernel/extensions from loading)

• Prevents Startup Items and Login Items from opening automatically

• Disables user-installed fonts

• Deletes font caches, kernel cache, and other system cache files

NOTE 2: if you have a wireless keyboard with rechargeable batteries connect it with its charging cable before booting into Safe Mode. This makes it act as a wired keyboard as will insure a successful boot into Safe Mode.

Agree on the macOS side of the equation.

This is only IMHO and does not come with a Technical Knowledge of the Inner Works

macOS is still being offered on Intel Computer hough Apple is moving to Apple Silicon CPUs .

As long as Both Platforms are running side by side - the Apple Servers may need extra time to desert what update elements are needed for which Platform.

The work Pre-work ( Server Side ) required for the delivery to End User is also extended

IOS side - this would not apply
