Hello Michele Tampa,
Thank you for reaching out to Apple Support Communities, and we'll be happy to help in any way we can. We understand you're having issues with your Apple Watch band. This article goes over the ways you can clean it:How to clean your Apple Watch - Apple Support
"Clean and dry your Apple Watch band
Remove the band from your Apple Watch before cleaning. This cleaning information applies to Apple-branded bands only. For all other bands, follow the care information provided with the band.
For leather bands:
For Solo Loop, Braided Solo Loop, Sport Band, Sport Loop, Ocean Band, Alpine Loop, and Trail Loop:
For all other bands, buckles, and closures:
* Leather usually takes on a patina after normal wear. The leather might also change color due to exposure to substances like perfume, insect repellent, oil, lotion, or dyed materials like denim. The Apple Watch and band colors may vary or fade over time. "
We hope this helps.
Cheers!
Your response/advice — Not helpful at all. The black dye used on the inside of the silicone band, which also colors the inside of the band’s perforations, has leached into the white outside and stained the white silicone. The stain cannot be removed. The is a design or manufacture defect, something I didn’t expect from an Apple or Nike product.
I'm sorry, but there isn't anything anyone can do for you here. Watch bands wear with extended use. Over the years, I've had to replace a number of watch bands as there really are very few, which don't wear out over time. Apple bands come with a one year warranty against manufacturing defects. Cosmetic issues aren't covered.
If you want a more durable, can't wear out band, buy a decent quality metal band.
You aren't speaking with Apple Support on this user to user only forum. All we can honestly suggest is to take your issue up to Apple directly.
Hey Michele Tampa,
Service or exchange options can be discussed with Apple directly. Get Support from them here.
Take care.
Did that. They told me I could buy a new band for $49. Not impressed with their CS, to say the least. So when I got an inquiry from this page, I thought maybe… but no. Our dye ran? Oh well.
Yes, that’s what I did. Yes
And they didn’t care
I was just reaching out to see if I’m the only one with this problem. I have a number of bands, I just like the Nike and was surprised the color leaches as this is a sports band for active wear.
