Restore Home & Work Icon on Apple Maps

Hi,

I've seen several community posts about this already, and none were solved. I have also tried what they suggested, I have even reset my iPhone but it still disappeared.

Some users accidentally deleted home and work icons from Apple Maps 'Favorites'. I'll admit that I deleted them on purpose. But now we can't get them back.

It seems like an iCloud or Apple Server issue since after restoring from a backup or restoring the iPhone after reset, the icons are still gone.

Can someone shed some light?

Hi, the actual home and work icons are gone from favorites.

I can search Home (if I have a home on the contacts card), but it’s not listed on favorites.

I actually found out it’s an iCloud issue. If I turn off the toggle for Maps on iCloud settings, the options appear again. Then if I turn the toggle on, they disappear (home & work)

I have spoken with several Apple advisors about this but it took so long and I always run out of time to talk to them so there’s always no resolution.

Hello JeppyG,

Just to clarify, is the issue that places you added to your favorites previously are missing, or the actual options in favorites are missing altogether? That information will help us plan how to proceed.

Edit a favorite

1. On the search card, tap More above the row of favorites.

2. Tap next to the favorite.

3. Depending on the location, you may be able to make the following changes:

• Rename the favorite: Double-tap the Label field, then enter a new name.

• Change the address: Tap Contact Card, then make your changes.

• Delete the location from your favorites list: Tap Remove Favorite.

• Tell someone your ETA: Tap Add Person, then choose one or more suggested contacts, or search for a contact. Whenever you start turn-by-turn navigation to this location, the person automatically receives a notification about your estimated time of arrival (ETA). See Share your estimated time of arrival (ETA) in Maps on iPhone.

4. Tap Done.
