Why can't I open Mail after updating to OS 13.2 Ventura? App opens for a split second and quits.

I just updated to OS 13.2 Ventura. Now my Mail application will not open. App opens for a split second then quits. The I get the "Mail has quit unexpectedly" window, with the error report for Apple. Since I have sent about a dozen of these this morning, I hope Apple is aware it has a problem.

With the Apple MAIL Application closed


Hold the SHIFT key and attempt to Safe Launch the application


Still issues >>


1 - Restart in Safe Mode. This will perform a Disk Repair, clear cache files and only load Apple Software, extensions and fonts. The boot up will be slow and can take some time - Normal.


2 - Safe Mode will also eliminate Third Party Software, extensions and drivers from loading. It will only load the Minimum amount of Core Apple Processes to allow the the computer to function at a reduced Level of Performance 


3 - Does the issue present in this mode ?


4 - Sometimes a Safe Boot followed by a Normal Boot will just put things right.

5 - If not - there could be something in the main User Account playing up. To further isolate this - Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac. Then log out of the Main User account and log into the dummy account and test again if the issue persists.


6 - If the issue is present in the dummy account - then, this appears to be a System Wide issue on the computer.


Still having issues - post back for additional suggestions.

Problem resolved by different means. Your recommendations did not work, but found solution in a user forum. Sequentially shut off each of my accounts using toggle switch in Internet Account settings, then tried to open Mail. Mail opened after I shut off my POP account (cox.net). My .me account worked fine.


Then turned on the POP account with the Mail window open. Window stayed open. Then closed window and reopened it with POP account enabled. Window opened normally. No idea what caused problem, other than some initial incompatibility with my POP account.
