My phone was purchased at the Apple Store in Albany, NY about 2 weeks ago. It replaced my old I phone 6 and was activated at the store. Several days ago, I purchased at new song from the I tunes web site on my Dell windows computer. It did not appear in my I phone music library as happened on my old I phone 6. I connected the computer to the I phone via USB cable. This method has always worked with my I phone 6, but didn't respond as I expected. I then disconnected the cable as the I phone SE had locked up. I was able to unlocked the SE by working the volume controls and the off button, but I had to reset some prompted information and must have messed up the I tunes settings, as I now cannot use this app. It responds to screen icon in grey coloring, and the songs are listed on the menu, but nothing responds except messages that say "you cannot redownload this" or "item has not been purchased". The phone otherwise seems to be working properly. Do you recognize this problem, and can you advise how I can restore my I tunes? I appreciate any help, as listening to my i tunes is one of my favorite activities.

Hey there Olliewalker,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

We understand how important it is to be able to access your new and previously purchased music, and we'd be happy to help.

To start, when you purchased and set up your new iPhone did you sign into the same Apple ID you used on your previous iPhone and that you use on iTunes?

If not, you would need to sign out and sign into your previous Apple ID, then you can follow the steps in the following resource to redownload your music from the iTunes Store: Redownload music - Apple Support

Redownload music in the iTunes Store app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. Open the iTunes Store app.
- On your iPhone or iPod touch: At the bottom of your screen, tap More More button, then tap Purchased.
- On your iPad: Tap Purchased.
2. Tap Music. If you use Family Sharing, tap a family member’s name to see music that they purchased.
3. Find the music that you want to redownload, then tap it.
4. Tap the download button Download button next to a song or album.

Don't see the music that you purchased?

If you need help with signing out of your Apple ID, take a look at the steps below: Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac - Apple Support

Sign out on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
1. Go to Settings, then tap your name.
2. Scroll down to the bottom.
3. Tap Sign Out.
4. Enter your Apple ID password and tap Turn Off. Forgot your Apple ID password
5. Turn on the data that you want to keep a copy of on your device.
6. Tap Sign Out.
7. Tap Sign Out again to confirm that you want to sign out of iCloud.

Keep us updated on what you find.

Take care!
