Since you have a “new” AppleID, 2FA can NOT be turned “off.”
The de-activation process to which JS-fromDK referred was for older “legacy” AppleIDs which were in-service before 2FA was available.
So, since you’re using 2FA going-forward, suggest you carefully read and understand what’s contained in these two documents:
