MacBook has x on battery icon
my mac keeps telling me to charge it but it’s been charged for a long time. it also has an X on the battery icon. it shuts down when I don’t plug it in, how do I remove the X from the icon?

Usually an "X" in the battery icon indicates a hardware issue of some sort. The battery is the weakest link. Have Apple or an Apple Authorized Service Provider examine the laptop to provide you with a repair estimate.
