Why is the native WiFi sniffer disabled for 6 GHz?

Problem 1 - Native WiFi air packet sniffer under Wireless Diagnostics is disabled for 6GHz channels on the latest Macbook Pro with M2 Pro chipset which claims to support WiFi 6E(with 6 GHz)

Problem 2 - While it could connect a dual band(5 GHz and 6 GHz) WPA3-PSK SSID on 6GHz( Prefered 6GHz over 5GHz), and could see another single band(6 GHz) SSID configured as Enhanced Open(OWE), it strangely requires a password to connect to the Enhanced Open(OWE).

I tested both the SSIDs with the laest iPad Pro with M2 chipset, and it does the job fine as expected.

Having issues too - I can't connect to the 6GHz network as it doesn't seem to show up.

If I run "sudo airport -s" I can actually see the 6GHz network (same SSID as 5GHz and 2.4GHz), and "Wifi Explorer 3 Pro" can successfully find the 6GHz network when scanning passively. The hardware is OK..

However, Wireless Diagnostics cannot find the 6GHz network and it will not be utilised by macOS, even if I place my MacBook 14" 2023 directly next to the 6e AP (5GHz RSSI of -19, 6GHz RSSI of -9).

This is also on macOS Ventura 13.3.1

-> seemingly there are still quite a lot of macOS issues related to WiFi 6e support, and the support documents are not updated yet (telling me to change settings that have been removed, for example WiFi network service order)

Bit disappointing to advertise 6e support and not actually deliver on it - especially not being able to properly diagnose problems & not being able to make use of the support documentation
