I was having prob with connecting a new printer and somehow got involved with them- $499 later I could print properly

Unfortunately, that sounds like a typical scam where a user calls a number that leads to a criminal organization as opposed to a printer manufacturer. If you have used a bank card to pay them, contact your bank. If they had access to your computer at a very minimum, change all passwords that were ever used on that computer.
