What can I use to clean the airpod max rubber band

I have had my airpod max (white) for 4 months.

i was regularly cleaning them as I wear makeup, I always kept them in decent condition.

randomly a couple weeks ago a black mark that looked like it was from the inside showed up. I tried cleaning it how they suggested, I took it into Apple to get looked at and they didn’t know anything about the AirPods? Very confused

they progressively got worse and

un-cleanable, and now are completely marked up which is quite disappointing as I love wearing them but I’ve started to feel embarrassed with them on now. It’s even more disappointing when the price mark is at £500 and yet no one’s been able to help me.

they also have crackling noises every now and again.

does anyone know any other ways to clean these mark?
