Airpods Pro 2 spatial audio fixed when preview on Mac Studio

I having troubles with the sound of the Airpods Pro 2 on my Mac Studio. When I preview a video or any audio in finder, it automatically set the fixed spatial audio mode. When trying to change it, the Airpods disconnects from my Mac. It only happen when I preview in finder. If I play a video or audio in Quicktime, Apple Music, Safari, etc. I can change to any mode without problem.

I tried to erase and set again the spatial audio and still doesn't work.

Hi Anspe,

We appreciate you reaching out to us.

We’d like to gather additional details that may help us be in a better position to assist you.

Does it help if you restart your Mac Studio? Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support

Updating to macOS 13.2 is a great step to troubleshoot the issue.

While it isn't inherently assured that an update will resolve the issue, updating to the latest version of macOS can help isolate potential software issues.

If possible, kindly secure a backup first.

Then, update to macOS 13.2, and let us know if the update helped.

  1. Back up your Mac with Time Machine - Apple Support
  2. Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

If the issue persists after the update, let’s test if the issue persists on a newly created user account.

  1. "On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Users & Groups  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  2. Click the Add Account button below the list of users on the right (you may be asked to enter your password.)
  3. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user.
  4. Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
  5. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Enter a password hint to help the user remember their password.
  6. Click Create User."

If you are experiencing the issue when signed in on a different user account, please check if the issue persists while on safe mode.

Performing this step may help resolve the issue, or further isolate the issue.

It may also help if you reset your AirPods

  1. "Put your AirPods in their charging case, and close the lid.
  2. Wait 30 seconds.
  3. Open the lid of your charging case, and put your AirPods in your ears.
  4. Go to Settings > Bluetooth. Or go to Settings > [your AirPods].
  5. Put your AirPods in their charging case, and keep the lid open.
  6. Press and hold the setup button on the back of the case for about 15 seconds, until the status light on the front of the case flashes amber, then white.*
  7. Reconnect your AirPods: With your AirPods in their charging case and the lid open, place your AirPods close to your iPhone or iPad. Follow the steps on your device's screen."
