I am getting duplicates of all text messages when I text myself- which is quite a nuisance as I text myself various things throughout the day. How can I make it stop? Please?

Thank you,

I've got some good news and some bad...

I'm one that texts myself too! I don't answer myself and so that means I'm ok, right :-D

Not long ago someone else was asking how to shut off the second text. I'm so confused about this because it's always done that to me and I've been through 3 models of iPhones. Somehow I get the feeling that the second text is new to some people.

The bad news, you can't turn it off.

When you text yourself, it goes through the airwaves and gets delivered to your phone pretty much the same way a text to a friend is delivered.

I just delete the second text, no big deal.

I know a way that you can send a text and not get it delivered back to your phone! Send it to your email address instead.

This is kind of cool because then you'll have a copy of it in another place instead of only on your phone.

I hope that this answers everything for you, I tried ;-)
