Lately, any time I try to use an online restaurant app, subscribe to a periodical, etc using my phone, I get the infinite circle lockup about the time I enter all the payment fields. It used to work fine, probably started 3-4weeks ago…? What can I do? Phone is iPhone 14 Pro, recently updated OS.

If it helps, I've had this problem when using the McAllister's Deli app, the Chik-FilA app, and when trying to pay a newspaper subscription via the paper's own website. It doesn't seem particularly tied to Apple Pay. I used Apple Pay a few days ago at a brick-and-mortar store using their credit card machine.
When you say "infinite circle lockup", does that mean your iPhone goes into a black screen with a spinning circle like shown here? https://i.stack.imgur.com/mV7S8.png
The screen isn’t black. I can still see all the fields I entered, but none can be changed. The circle loop is superimposed over the screen. The whole phone doesn’t lock, just the offending app.
Does anything change about the problem if you turned off Autofill payment/contact info in Settings > Safari > Autofill and then turn it back on?
