Sync Error. Red Circle with exclamation mark (!) in Finder

I got a new iMac M1 and have migrated from an old iMac.

I decided to use the same hard drive external disk for Time Machine backup on the new computer.

As I was backing up there was a power cut and when the computer started up again all files in the Finder that were included in the Time Machine backup settings are marked with a red circle and an exclamation mark "!" in the finder. They all work but it looks really distracting.

I finished the backup... restarted... removed the external disk... restarted...

I can't get the red ! to go away.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

iMac 24″, macOS 13.0

Thank you for posting in Apple Support Communities.

It’s possible these files were excluded from the backup when it completed. You can learn how to correct that here: If Time Machine on your Mac doesn't back up certain files

Thanks for the answer.

After reading your answer I now notice that the "Sync Error" symbol has disappeared. It solved itself somehow.
