first passcode number doesn’t enter after restart

hi

since i upgraded to ios16, when i start up or restart my SE 2022 and go to enter my passcode, the first number never goes through. i have to tap the number twice for it to be entered.

in other words instead of 123456, i have to tap 1123456.

not a huge deal, i just want to know if this is an issue anyone else has experienced. this has never happened before. once i’m logged in, if i close the phone and enter the code to reopen it, the issue does not occur. it’s only when the phone has been powered off or restarted.

Hi pancakes808,

Thanks for contacting Apple Support Communities!

We understand that your iPhone doesn't recognize your touch after you restart your iPhone, correct?

Check out this resource which will show you how to troubleshoot your screen not working on your iPhone: If the screen isn't working on your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

"If your screen is too sensitive or responds intermittently to touch

  1. Restart your iPhone or iPad.
  2. Make sure that your screen is clean and free of any debris or water.
  3. Disconnect any Lightning or USB-C accessories. If your screen works after removing an accessory, try using a different outlet, cable, or charger.
  4. Remove any cases or screen protectors."

We hope this helps you.

Take care!
