Left-Option key no longer works after upgrading to Ventura 13.2

The machine is a macbook Pro 2019 Retina.

Safe mode the left option key does not work as well. Is there a program that can tell me if the key is seen as pressed?

Thanks - I was able to find the Mission Control Shortcuts section and did not see the option key chosen. Also I did not see the option key chosen in the System Preferences Keyboard Shortcuts.
Even if the option key was a chosen option why would the right option key continue to work while the left option key no longer works? Does the Mission Control Shortcuts or the keyboard shortcuts even allow the choice of a just the left option key?

Yes, you can choose either the left or right Option, Control, Shift, or Command keys.

You could try setting the Left Option key as one of the shortcuts, then change it back to the default (note that before changing it). I don't know if it will fix the problem, but I don't know of anything else that would disable the option keys.
