Hey there Andrew9747,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities.

Just to confirm, when authorizing your MacBook, did you follow the steps listed in this link here: Authorize or deauthorize your computer for iTunes Store purchases - Apple Support

How to authorize or deauthorize your Mac
1. Open the Apple Music app or Apple TV app. In the menu bar, choose Account and make sure that you're signed in with your Apple ID.
2. Choose Account > Authorizations, then choose Authorize This Computer or Deauthorize This Computer.
3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password. Forgot your Apple ID?
4. Click Authorize or Deauthorize.

If so, did you see any alerts or messages when authorizing your MacBook? If not, then based on the information you've provided, we'd recommend reaching out to Apple Support directly from this link here: Contact - Official Apple Support

Take care!
