Hi everyone.
I have an external USB hard drive formatted with the NT File System. I would like to create a HFS or macOS Journaled partition on the same drive. When I open Disk Utility, I get the message in the screenshot attached. Is it possible to do this with Disk Utility, Terminal or with 3rd party software?

Just to add, assuming you are asking because you want to have one drive that can be used for both Windows and macOS, you could just format the entire drive as ExFAT. Both WIndows and Macs can read & write to ExFAT drives.
Purchase another external drive for this task.

I am aware of that and it sounds like the best option. I can copy the stuff off the drive, reformat with ExFat and copy back.
FWIW, if you have access to a Windows PC, it may be possible using one of Paragon Software's products. I would contact them and ask.
