I forgot my password to my admin account. I tried to reset my password through utilities but my admin account is attached to an old email I longer use. When I go to forgot Apple is or password, it reads the old email address is reads this Apple ID is not valid. Help!’ I have a MacBook Air sierra

If you encrypted your Mac’s boot disk with FileVault 2 —
this prevents you from using your Apple ID to reset your password
