USB/Flash Drives for Photo Transfer

I want to save and move MAC BK PRO 2012 photos and videos to NEW MAC BOOK AIR wM2 chip - What product drive (s) is best and what size for 6000+ photo and 20 3 minutes music videos I made. AND LAST BUT NOT LIST please a link of HOW TO.

Any form of external HD or Flash drive with enough capacity will do.

Are these items in a Photos Library? The simply drag it to the drive and then from there to the Pictures Folder on the new machine.
