iPhone keeps asking "Trust this computer and enter a password"

I just conversed with an advisor on Apple Chat support and I mentioned that I have reset my Network, Location and Privacy settings and I kept getting this message to "trust the computer",. He said that iOS 16 REQUIRES a password EVERY TIME even if the computer is trusted...iOS 15 did not have this requirement and Apple needs to put this information on their website!! ... also give us an option to disable this annoying notification when we are dealing with "trusted devices"

This was a change made with iOS 16.1, and it is a workaround for a vulnerability that would allow someone who had hacked your computer to make a backup of your iPhone that they could download and essentially have access to your private information. Here is a summary of the vulnerability:

Available for: iPhone 8 and later, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 3rd generation and later, iPad 5th generation and later, iPad mini 5th generation and later

Impact: An app may be able to access iOS backups

Description: A permissions issue was addressed with additional restrictions.

CVE-2022-32929: Csaba Fitzl (@theevilbit) of Offensive Security

The answer is that there is no fix to this annoying problem. Why? Because Apple doesn't care. They're almost a monopoly and when in such a position, the needs of consumers are an afterthought. As such we can see Mac and iOS aging and getting sloppy and outdated. But Apple shareholders don't care. They just want to squeeze profits out of the market, not pay developers to fix flaws.

A similar example of this disrespect for clients is the iPhone Screenshot shortcut, which can't be remapped from the extremely inconvenient Volume + Lock buttons, even though doing so would absurdly easy. Apple just doesn't care and they're not even trying to hide it.
