Screen Time for child is not working

My daughter has an iPhone 12 and I have an iPhone 13 mini both running 16.3 iOS.

I want to monitor screen time and setup restrictions on my daughters phone. Screentime is setup and everything appears to have been done correctly in settings however, although screentime says “updated [date/time]”, it doesn’t show any stats. In addition, my daughter is able to download what she likes and use apps outside of times provided despite devices saying it’s activated.

I know there are other threads about this but I can’t seem to reply to them nor have a actually found a resolution?

Hi Dre2k1983,

To confirm, have you set up Screen Time as outlined here: Set up parental controls with Family Sharing on iPhone - Apple Support

"Set up Screen Time for a child later

Screen Time allows you to manage settings for downtime, app use, contacts, content ratings, and more. To use Screen Time, your child must be using an eligible device. See the Screen Time section in the Apple Support article System Requirements for iCloud.

  1. Go to Settings  > [your name] > Family Sharing > Screen Time.
  2. Tap the child you want to set up Screen Time for.
  3. Tap Screen Time, then follow the onscreen instructions.
  4. For information about Screen Time settings, see Set up Screen Time for a family member on iPhone.
  5. To learn more about the different content & privacy restrictions, see the Apple Support article Use parental controls on your child’s iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.

If your child requests more screen time, you can approve or decline the request in Settings  > Screen Time or in Messages "

If so, and the parameters you've set are not being enforced, we'd advise contacting Apple Suport for assistance.

Take care.
