Control Center.app Turning Firewall Off

Why is the Control Center.app turning my firewall off? I have a new 2016" MacBook Pro. I just re-imaged it with a fresh Ventura OS because I thought malicious software was turning my (built-in) firewall off. Every time I restart or after 5-10 minutes, my firewall is turned off. I've tried blocking control center, enabling stealth mode, and blocking all incoming connections. Control Center is still changing my firewall to off.

That is a mystery as to how Apple Builtin Firewall is even in the Control Centre

Let alone being able to Block Control Centre

Refer to below Apple Document specific to Venture and its' usages.

It is possible that the Control Center app on your MacBook Pro is turning off your firewall because of a bug or a configuration issue. - Have had some issues in the past.

Heres what you can try to resolve it:

  1. Update macOS to the latest version: Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Software Update to make sure your MacBook Pro is running the latest version of the operating system.
  2. Check the firewall settings: Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall and check the firewall settings to make sure they are set to your desired level of protection.
  3. Disable the Control Center app: If the issue persists, you may want to temporarily disable the Control Center app. You can do this by using the Terminal application. Open Terminal and enter the following command: sudo chmod 700 /System/Library/CoreServices/Control\ Center.app.
  4. Reset the firewall: If disabling the Control Center app does not resolve the issue, you can try resetting the firewall. Go to the Apple menu > System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall and click the lock icon to make changes. Then click the "Turn Off Firewall" button and immediately click the "Turn On Firewall" button.

I would say to Re-image your MacBook but since you have just done that try whats listed above^.

If the issue is still occurring hopefully someone else can help you. Since Apple support wont help:(

Dan, I just re-imaged my laptop and haven't downloaded any software or made any configuration changes besides enabling firewall. There wouldn't be a bug or configuration issue with a fresh Ventura image unless it's in the OS software itself. I had already done 1 and 2. Number 3 is a no no. and Number 4 is what I had done multiple times and the firewall keeps turning off. Thanks for trying.
