iPhone won’t play music through USB with Ford Sync

To aid us in looking into this issue, can you confirm the following?

• If you plug this iPhone into a charger or computer, does it charge and sync?
• Are you able to test another iPhone connected to the same USB port on your car stereo, and if yes, what were the results?
• Is your iPhone fully updated? Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
• If you have a different USB to Lightning cable, test with it. Does the issue persist?

After the recent update, my truck got the same message displaying except it’s GMC. Tried 3 different cords, everything updated, and still says no playable media. It will keep displaying the message and play the music but you can’t turn the volume or control it.
