stolen iphone

hi, my sister’s phone (iphone 14pro) has been stolen and we’ve tried to find it with FMI, but telephone was turned off. so my sister put it on the lost mode. since then I get sms that my sister’s phone has been found by the police and it has some link that asks for my sister’s apple ID and password. We didn’t write down my sister’s ID and password. we went to the nearest apple shop and they checked my icloud and it was off. But since then when we tried to open icloud it said that password or ID was incorrect. Then we tried to open icloud with my sister’s iphone passcode and it worked but it says that it needs to be unlocked but we don't know why it says that, or is it safe to unlock?

Those are phishing messages. If you went to those links and entered the information then you have compromised your sister's accounts with the people who found the phone.
