I bought a late 2007 iMac and am waiting for my memory to come in the mail to upgrade it to 4gb. How do I upgrade? Can I go directly to el captain? Any time I go on safari and try to go to download safari says page cannot be found. Kind of stuck. Any suggestions? Or even to maverick? Could I go beyond El Capitan? Intel core 2 duo processor.
Back up your data, check the application compatibility table, click here, and then on the download link for El Capitan. That iMac model can't be upgraded past it.

No. The upgrade would need to be started manually; it'll refuse to run if the system has less than 2GB of RAM.

So would I have to purchase lion? Sorry I don’t know a lot about these. Do you know the steps I would take in your own writing? I’ve looked at all the links apple has and they don’t answer much lol. Feel like I’m running in circles
Well I’m getting extra ram to run El Capitan. Is there possibly a graphic card I could buy? I got it for nothing so I’m kinda using it as a project computer too anyway.
Also do you by chance know if it will automatically update once it has more ram?
