File Sharing Not Working--Update

I had a similar issue as another thread on here that has been shut down... getting an error about access being denied from a server when trying to activate and initiate file sharing between two Macs (though I already had screensharing working)...

...the solution is to go into the file sharing options and making sure "Share files and folders using SMB" is checked and then under the "On" next to the account name in the edit window, make sure the checkmark is checked.

This fixed it for me. It's misleading because this option window makes it seem as though it will only activate it for Windows machines, but it is a global option. If you uncheck the "Share files and folders using SMB" box, it will disable file sharing entirely. After you check the "On" by the account, enter the password, it should allow the account to share with another computer.
