Repeating Events not Syncing Correctly on Mac Calendar

I am using my Microsoft Exchange account as default for both calendar and mail. Then I use the following devices to read and manage those: Mac Mini M2 Pro, iPhone 14 Pro, iPad Pro 11" (3rd gen) with native system mail and calendar apps and also MS Outlook for Mac, and a Microsoft Surface Pro 8 with its Outlook 365. All devices have OSs and apps in their latest versions with the latest updates.

Normal single events sync nicely across all of the above regardless of where they are created or edited. However, if I create a new event and set it to repeat e.g. on every first day of the month, the following happens:

  • if the original event is created on the Mac it never becomes visible on any other device, stays only on Mac.
  • if the original event is created on the PC Outlook, it is correctly synced on the iPhone, iPad and the Outlook for Mac, but on the Mac's native Calendar app one of the two things happen (sometimes the first, sometimes the second, no obvious pattern):
    • nothing is seen, the event never syncs
    • the event is repeated as a simple event for each and every day in the defined duration period
  • if the original event is created on the iPhone or iPad, it appears correctly on both, as well as on the PC and Mac Outlook apps, but on the Mac's native Calendar app one of the two things happen (sometimes the first, sometimes the second, no obvious pattern):
    • nothing is seen, the event never syncs
    • the event is repeated as a simple event for each and every day in the defined duration period
  • if the original event is created on the Outlook for Mac, it is correctly synced on the iPhone, iPad and the Outlook for PC, but on the Mac's native Calendar app the event is repeated as a simple event for each and every day in the defined duration period

Summing up, it seems that the PC, the iPhone and the iPad all work fine and sync between them as expected, but the Mac behaves erratically. Will appreciate any comment that might lead to the solution of this issue.

Thank you, but it would seem I was not clear enough. The problem is not setting up or deleting a repeating event in Calendar on Mac, which your advice is pointing to.

Let me repeat in a very concise manner: After correctly setting up or deleting a repeating event, the PC, the iPhone and the iPad all work fine and sync between them as expected, but the Mac behaves erratically. The details of this erratic behavior are in the original post.

Thanks to all who are kind to respond. To those that suggest I should contact Apple Support and/or send feedback Apple: that's a very good advice and I have of course done that. This Community is however another channel which in my (very long) experience has generally been the most helpful one so I take the liberty to ask my questions here as well.

If a solution comes through the Apple official support, I will of course share it here for the benefit of the wider community..
