Apple ID and old Apple TV

Hi ! I have an issue with an old Apple TV I found in my house(the software is 6.2.1). I reinitialised it but I can’t log in my iTunes nor iCloud account :

once I put my Apple ID and password, it just tell me that I did a mistake while writing them and can’t access but in the same time, I got a notification on my iPhone asking me to confirm the connexion ! Too late, because I already have to get back my IDs…

I think that the issue come from the version of the Apple TV, not taking Two factor authentification and so stopping the connexion while I have to confirm it. And I tried to update it, but it juste told me that it has the best version…

Is there any way to pass over it ?

thanks for an answer !

Wow thanks a lot for that answer !!! I didn’t expected one that fast and that complete… thank you !

But unfortunately, it didn’t work… I tried as you said multiple times with different devices to get even faster, but I think it just block as it’s not the good password. It looks like it work better without entering the code after my password, but still not work. And I tried for iTunes and iCloud, both didn’t work… and it’s not even asked this code, just the password : If you have another idea I would really like, if not thanks anyway !!! Maybe at least that may help others in the same situation…

just to give more details : I indeed have the Apple TV 2nd Generation, an iPhone 7 (so only IOS15.6) and an iPad (with iPadOS16.3). When I enter my password only, looks like it checks it is the good password but the 2-factor auth. make all fail ( I recieve the confirmation message and digits on my iPhone) ; when I add the 6digit code, it directly says I have the wrong password

software 6.2.1 […] I tried to update it, but it juste told me that it has the best version.

That seems to match the Apple TV (2nd generation), A1378, 2010–2012.

For iCloud services: The latest changes to iCloud may have made it incompatible with old system software, especially if your account is also used on current models devices (OS 16.2+), where you have accepted the new terms and conditions.

For iTunes Store:

If you have an Apple TV (2nd or 3rd generation) and two-factor authentication for your Apple ID, then you may be asked to type your password followed by the six-digit verification code directly into the password field. Additionally, there is a time limit, after which the code becomes invalid.

Try this: First enter the characters of your password (do not submit yet), then manually request a new verification code, then append that code to the password (no spaces or other separating characters), and then submit. That should help you get passed the time limit.

So to be precise, I went in the setting app > iTunes > sign in, then here I entered my email address - I think here all is good - and then I came in the page I showed in the picture. I wrote carefully on my iPhone keyboard my password, asked manually for a 6 digits code on my iPad, entered it right after my password in the field on my iPhone and pressed Submit. Directly, I got the message « wrong password or ID » without hesitations (like no checking, as when you actually do a mistake of password). I tried few times to be sure I didn’t make any mistakes, same result…

And when I tried without the code again (only password in the field and submit), I had the little moment like if it was accepting it, and then same message (wrong password/ID) and a notification on my iPhone asking me to confirm the connexion - too late, can’t do anything on the apple TV except retrying…

Tell me if you see where I’m wrong ! Elsewhere, just not gonna use it… Thanks for the time took to help me anyway !!!

Please be precise about the last part, then it doesn’t matter how complicated your password is, as the timing only depends on entering 6 digits (verification code) in 30 seconds, which should be enough time.
