Pages - how to paste multiple rows at once

I've got a big table in Pages. I need to copy multiple rows at once (know how to do that), and then past them into the table, without writing over existing rows. Is there a way to do this?

You click once in the first target cell of the row where you want to paste the copied rows, and Pages will auto-populate that content downward in the table, adding rows as needed to complete the paste.

I tested my instructions with Pages v12.2.1 on Ventura 13.2 before and after your current post and my results are:

The assumption was that you knew you needed a blank row below the rows 6 - 10 for a that single-click cell (A11) selection before the paste operation. Otherwise, you likely pasted onto an existing selection range and overwrote it.

When I do that it writes over/ wipes out any existing data in the rows below the insert point. So it pastes the rows, but doesn't insert any new rows. See attached example

I want the table to end up with ABCDE-FGHIJ-FGHIJ. Do you get what I mean?

I just tried inserting a blank row after the E row, and pasting, but it still wiped over the previous data:

And I'm using the same Pages and Ventura versions as you.
