Corrupted file export makes Files freeze
Hi folks,
I would appreciate your help with an issue that I have with the native iPad Files app (iOS 16.3).
To start with, the app is awful. It can’t handle such tasks as mass file transfer, for example, especially to/from an SD card: more often than not there will be an error. I ended up downloading a 3rd party app for such tasks.
Yesterday it gave me another trouble, though: I had to export about 50 photos from my Capture One app to Google Drive, and used “share -> save to files” for that task. The export didn’t go well, and I ended up with “ghost” icons of my images in the export destination folder. I have no idea how to make those go away, since they are non-selectable. What’s worse, the Files app is now terribly slow. Whenever I try to switch between folders on the left hand-side sidebar, it may have to think for a few minutes before anything happens. The “save to files” option doesn’t work with any apps now, either, because the Files app will just be frozen and won’t let me choose my destination folder. I tried turning the IPad on and off; deleted and reinstalled the Files app; tried to re-export those photos again to overwrite the corrupted files - nothing helps. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks, S.
