Files app keeps crashing

I downloaded quite a few files (brush sets for procreate) - a couple of them were large - 4GB. They all completed downloading according to the downloads tab in safari. When I unzipped the files, some uploaded just fine, and some of them were empty. I realized it might have been too much data all at once, so I began deleting some of the files. Then the files app crashed, and it crashes instantly when I try to open it. I have restarted the ipad several times, and deleted the files app and re downloaded it. It still crashes. The files are visible in the files app on my phone and in iCloud. It’s an iPad Pro, 4th gen. Any ideas how to get the files app to open?

The app keeps on crashing for me as well. I’m working with one single file that I’m annotating heavily but need the annotations synced on iPad and desktop. My file is 178mb. It’s quite frustrating. I have an iPad 6, so quite old… but I think it’s the app that needs some managing, honestly.
