Dear Anyone who could help,
On an brand new M2 iPad pro 256gb updated to ipadOs16.3 - I tap on apps and a menu / quick action menu appears. This does not disappear until I restart, and this happens frequently. This imparts delays in time-sensitive work I do with the device.
How do we eliminate this problem?

1. First, update to iOS 16.3.1, as a new version can correct known issues, or even help with the new update of a clean installed iOS.
2. Turn taps slow and Haptic to slow.
3. Then restart: Restart your iPad - Apple Support
4. Then go back and reset taps and Haptics to the speeds you want. Test.
5. If the issue remains, please reach out to Apple Support to investigate this further. Contact Apple Support

When opening an app, quickly tap the icon. If your finger is held on the icon, this would open the contextual menu you're describing.

My taps are quick, and not slow. Haptic touch is not enabled to "slow" but to fast as well.
Is there any other way to fix this? As we speak the same problem occurs, and it will require a restart for the action menu not to appear on my quick tap.
Thank you for this tip, I tried it and so far the action menus do not pop up. It has been 2 hours since I did it.
However, when I tap on an individual photo in the photos app, instead of opening a bigger picture, it selects the photo (with a blue checkmark) even if I did not indicate to select it (not tapping the upper right hand button for selecting).
edit: restarting the ipad removes this problem, similar to the action menu

Hi, it's been 4 hours since the update to latest OS with haptic touch switched back and forth to fast slow then fast.
The action menus pop up again.
