Wifi disconnects if the phone is idle or locked or asleep for a while

Maintaining an idle WiFi connection uses far more power than simply using cellular data for push notifications, etc. when the device is in standby. If the WiFi connection remained active while the device was idle, your battery wouldn’t even come close to lasting the day.

That is an expected behavior. Only way to stay connected to wifi when the phone is idle or lock is to plug your phone into a power source. There is nothing wrong with your phone or wifi.

No, it is impossible to overcharge the battery. The more that you keep the phone connected to the power adapter, the longer the battery will go.
