TCP port 8021 open on Macbook Pro

Hello Apple community,

I recently discovered one of the TCP port 8021 is open by default on MacBook Pro 2021. Why the port is open and can we disable the underlying service ?

Change port used by launchd Hello, I have launchd occupying port 8021: ``` launchd 1 root 40u IPv6 0x89ff459897f3797f 0t0 TCP [::1]:8021 (LISTEN) launchd 1 root 41u IPv4 0x89ff458f013bd497 0t0 TCP 127.0.0.1:8021 (LISTEN) launchd 1 root 42u IPv6 0x89ff459897f3797f 0t0 TCP [::1]:8021 (LISTEN) launchd 1 root 43u IPv4 0x89ff458f013bd497 0t0 TCP 127.0.0.1:8021 (LISTEN) ``` If I kill launchd, I will end up with nothing but wallpaper. So I dig deeper as I understood that there might an underlying process that might be consuming this port by following listener - why did launchd open a port and what is listening? - Stack Overflow Where I ended up seeing: ``` /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.ftp-proxy.plist: <string>8021</string> ``` How can I disable this process from using this port? Or at least change that port for that process? Any urgent help on this would be appreciated. Thanks!

WiFi shows weak security with WP, but my network is WPA2 My MacBook Air says the WiFi has weak security with WPA, but the router is set to WPA2 and my other MacBook Pro doesn't show the same error. This MacBook Air also has slow WiFi compared to the other MacBook and my iPhone. Is there a way to delete and reinstall the wifi service or otherwise refresh the wifi setup on the MacBook Air?

Not sure what your issue is but by default the Mac Firewall is off. So all ports are "open". If you need to close a spacific port this article may help you: Block connections to your Mac with a firewall - Apple Support
