... or you can use the MagSafe port (if so equipped) with its break-away feature, intended to keep your Mac from flying through the air if you trip on the cord. Fast Charging at levels above 100 Watts requires the MagSafe port, because USB-C cables are only rated up to 100 Watts.
When charging with USB-C, your Mac may run slightly cooler if you use a USB-C port on the opposite side from any external display.
