Mac book pro 13 mid 2012 version
I have a Mac book pro 13 mid 2012 version and my version is El Capitan 10.11.6 want to update this version. How do I go about updating to latest version?

Back up your data, check the application compatibility table, click here, and then on the download link for a more-recent OS. That model's maximum one is Catalina.
Catalina and higher won't run 32-bit software; if you upgrade to one of them, use Go64 as well.
