Connect a macOS machine to WiFi by scanning a QR Code

seems no update on Connect a MacBook to WiFi by Scanning a Q… - Apple Community

so asking again in case anyone has any ideas/thoughts (or if it's on the roadmap...)

we have visitors who need to join WiFi network and we have the guest credentials on a QR code. for Android and iOS devices you can scan the code and connect, but MacBook / Air / Pro users don't have that option (and not all Mac users have an iPhone that they can use to make initial connection and share credentials)

especially with macOS and iOS getting more features in common this seems like a fairly straightforward 'win' (I notice Windows11 recently added QR/barcode scanning to the built-in camera app, but it doesn't intelligently handle WiFi QR codes yet)
