MDS_Stores constantly using 100% cpu since ventura upgrade
For Several days mds stores has been using 99.1 to 100% cpu nearly 24x7. This coincides the awful Ventura upgrade. My computer has slowed down by 5x. Processes that took under 1 minute in the older OSx versions are now taking 5 minutes. Things that took 1 second, now hang for 10 seconds. And this isn't short bursts of ~1 minute like it was in previous OSx verions, mds stores is is ALWAYS using 99-100% cpu, 24x7. The lag is terrible. Every minute the system is hanging for 3-5 seconds. Which means random buttons are being clicked, text is being typed. At this point it is a SECURITY RISK, as buttons can pop up that you approved with out knowing as it randomly hangs, dozens of times per hour. Killing the process, it comes back worse (mds/mdsyc/mds_stores uses 200% cpu) before using 100% all over again.
This command does not work, as mds_stores will automatically restart:
sudo mdutil -a -i off
When i try the following command to disable spotlight and mds :
Command:
unload -w /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist
Output:
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.metadata.mds.plist: Operation not permitted while System Integrity Protection is engaged
Unload failed: 150: Operation not permitted while System Integrity Protection is engage
