Playing games on a MacBook Pro

First, I'll make it clear that I am NOT a gamer. My granddaughter, however, lives to play games on her Windows PC. She brought her PC to my house to download a new game, Hogwarts Legacy. We quickly learned that her PC is deeply inadequate. It choked on the game, and we ran an online tool that quickly confirmed that her machine is simply not up to the task, on many points.


So I wondered whether my 2016 MacBook Pro (13-inch; 8 GM RAM) would run the game. I ran the tool and, no, my machine is also short of the minimum requirements. Now, I'm not a gamer, and I have no plans to become one. However, I'm curious: Does anyone run any of these big, resource-hoggin' games on MacBooks?


I think Hogwarts Legacy has a Mac version, but I run Parallels and Windows on my machine, for what that's worth.

The newer M1 and 2 series chips on Macs are very capable and they can run many games. If the game is made for Mac and optimized, the experience is great. On Intel Macs you can install Windows with Boot Camp and run it. On M series it is not available. Parallels is not supported by anti-cheat software so it won't work. The final option is Windows with Boot Camp but the game is heavy.
