Disney+ and Prime Video not Connecting to Apple TV +

I used to be able to search for shows in Disney+ and Prime Video through the Apple TV+ app. But now it suddenly got disconnected. When I go to the area where I previously connected the apps, it just shows me a screen with a few shows from the app instead of a prompt to “connect”. When I click on Disney+, it just shows me a bunch of movies/shows which I have to buy and watch.

I’ve tried restarting the Apple TV itself but that hasn’t worked.

I have an Apple TV 4k.

Connecting apps to the Apple TV app can be configured in Settings﹥Apps﹥TV app﹥ᴄᴏɴɴᴇᴄᴛ ᴛᴏ ᴛᴠ

Disney+ (and Prime Video) have select titles that are not included in their subscriptions, and those would have to be purchased. It depends on what title you choose to watch.

I believe connectable compatible apps that you have installed should be listed there automatically. These apps must be present on each Apple device with the Apple TV app, for this connecting to work. I don’t recall any additional steps being required, besides verifying the On-Off switch, but for me that was a several updates ago.

Disney+ and Prime Video are listed as regularly supported for your region.

In your second screenshot, I see these app icons listed in the Apple TV app, with the line “Connect to watch <service name>” below it. Have you tried clicking there to connect?

Else delete and reinstall these third party apps.

If the issue persists after that, then I would suggest to contact an expert from the Apple Support staff for further assistance. Contact Apple for support and service (phone numbers) or start your support request online (chat/email/callback).

Thank you, however it’s not showing up in my list of apps under “Connect to TV”. It used to be connected to my Apple TV+ app but suddenly it just stopped.

Shows included in the Disney+/Prime subscription are also showing up as paid when I open them in Apple TV+. I’m sure that they’re included in the subscription because they’re free to play when selected directly in the streaming app.
